Life Lately...
Here's a glimpse at life lately, including some serious DIY'ing (nothing's safe from my spray paint addiction), birthday cheer, baubles galore and some quality magazine time Oh what a glamorous life... Now please fill me in on what you've been up to before I put you guys to sleep!
Happy weekending, lovelies! xx

Creamsicle
This skirt started out life as a strapless dress, which I found at the Goodwill in a size 2; way too small for me to ever hope to fit into. But I loved the fabric and the print so much that I decided to buy it anyway and figure out later what to do with it. After languishing over the winter months in my closet, I finally took it to the tailor and had them convert it to a skirt. Isn't it delicious? I love the saturated orange and creamy white together; it reminds me of an orange Creamsicle, which was one of my favorite treats as a kid.
Converted skirt: Banana Republic

Blue and Yellow...
If loving polka dots is wrong then I don't want to be right... No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get away from them lately! If they're not creeping up on a dress or some frilly top, they're right there on a clutch or a fun pair of shoes. What can I say? When I commit to something, I really commit to something...
Happy Thursday, lovelies! xx

Wardrobe Wednesday...
I might be a little late to the Toms party, but at least I'm arriving in neon-y goodness, right? Although these aren't exactly my style which is precisely why I've avoided them for so long the whole comfort factor, coupled with the fact that they now come in neon hues, had me sold. Hey, better late than never, right? xx

Drawbacks
One of the drawbacks about not posting as often anymore is that by the time I get around to putting an outfit up here, I've completely forgotten what I wanted to say about it or what I was inspired by that day. I'd be willing to bet that this song was on my iPod that day though, because it's been in heavy rotation lately; someone was playing it at the hostel I stayed at in Lisbon, and through the magic of SoundHound I discovered a fantastic artist I'd never heard of before:
If you don't have SoundHound on your smartphone, do yourself a favor and get it now. It's life changing!
Dress: Carolina Herrera (thrifted)
Scarf/belt: Banana Republic

Stripes With Pep...
Casual stripes get some added ooomph with a pop of peplum in this little Zara top And the best part? I scored it for 15 big ones during their spring sale last week (which is probably still going on)... I think that calls for a fist pump, don't you? xx

Printed...
Sometimes nothing beats a simple print, and this geometric pattern had me at first glance... Not to mention the asymmetrical hem, which I always seem to gravitate towards. All in all, this dress has all the makings for a summertime staple, and I couldn't love it more... Bring it on, summer!

Leatherjacket, second hand / Shirt, Creme d Silk / Shorts, h&m / Shoes, Dr Martens
Nothing's better than waking up to an exciting letter after a funny opening reception for the Perversion For Profit exhibition by my friend Kenneth Cockwhore at the VESS Gallery with beautiful people, music and red wine after hours. Once again I've been invited to Sweden to work on a new exciting project in the fall - I'm overwhelmed and looking forward work with interesting and established names from the industry. Maybe I should consider a town residence in Gteborg? First, preparations for next weeks shoot and of course Copenhagen Fashion Week in the beginning of August!

Memory Lapse
This was a weekend outfit, and to be honest I've been so busy lately that I can't for the life of me remember what I was even doing that day. I'm hoping I can chalk this memory lapse up to stress and not Alzheimer's. If you happened to be hanging out with me when I wore this, a reminder of the day's activities would be most appreciated.

Floral Week: The Mani
Floral week has come and gone, and what better way to end things than with a flowery mani? The minute I saw this wacky print from Sally Hansen, I just haaaad to snap it up... I mean seriously, how rad is it? I don't know how long I'll actually be able to wear it for (honestly, I'm getting a little tired of it already!), but it certainly is fun while it lasts...
Happy Friday, sweet peas! xx

Free Days
What a couple of weeks it's been. Last week (I think it was last week, anyway) I had a last-minute work trip that took me out to the east coast, and this week I've been scrambling around trying to get everything caught up before I head off to France again. What's great is that I was able to stop in Manhattan just long enough to meet someone I'd long wanted to meet in person, Ally of Shybiker. What a delight! Ally is every bit as thoughtful, articulate, and interesting as you'd expect, and we chatted for hours over dinner about an incredible array of topics. I even coaxed a bit of the lawyer side out while discussing the constitutional aspects of the current battle for marriage equality, and how the Supreme Court has become increasingly politicized in recent years. I do so love a lively and intelligent conversationalist, and Ally really delivers.
As I mentioned, I'm off to France again for work on Saturday, and this time rather than spending my free days in Paris I'm heading to Aix-en-Provence. I was completely inspired after meeting up with Deja Pseu the last time I was in France, and this time of year should be just perfect weather-wise. I only have about 3 days there, but who can argue with 3 free days in Aix-en-Provence?

Floral Week: The Pant
In continuation of this week's theme, I thought I would bust out my trusty H&M floral pants one more time Because really, what better way is there to rep floral week than by sporting these little lovelies? I've worn them more times than I can count, but they never seem to get old... What can I say, I guess I'm just all about the blooms, baby!

Floral Week: Wardrobe Wednesday
Although I can't walk in them to save my life, I still love my Miu Miu-inspired F21 Mary Janes so... Just looking at them makes me happy! But about five minutes online revealed a whole other crop of floral-print goodness in the shoe department, and now I'm seriously contemplating a floral overhaul where my feet are concerned... Can you think of anything sweeter?
Happy Wednesday, lovelies! xx

Actually I'm out in a few minutes for my grandpas 80th birthday, but I just realized it's way too long time since I last checked in! Tuesday night I was out for a concert with the amazing Sam Sparro wearing my new second hand bomberjacket, polo shirt from h&m, second hand short, the beloved Versace handbag, socks from American Apparel and shoes from Dr Martens. The concert was above brilliant and I'm still kind dancing inside!
