{Remix} Shorts Story...
There's nothing I love more than a good pair of versatile, timeless shorts... Can you tell? I've only worn these faux leather lovelies like a million times, each of which never ceased to delight me with their diversity. From blouses and sweaters, to blazers and tights galore, the possibilities are endless where these not-so-basic basic shorts are concerned. Ooooh yeah.
And in other news, I apparently have a tendency to remix within remixes, especially where accessories are concerned. Exhibit A: quilted bag and booties. Is it a coincidence that they appeared twice in this remix roundup? I think not.
Happy weekending, friends! What's everyone getting up to? xx

{Details} Casual Club...
Now don't judge, but every now and then I feel compelled to bring my vintage Club Monaco sweatshirt out of hibernation. I don't know what it is about that old, familiar logo and its circle-engulfed crest, but I love it. Maybe it's because these sweatshirts saw me through my childhood (that, and pacifier jewelry) making them steeped with nostalgia, or the fact that every crush I ever had ages eight through 10 sported these bad boys too. Shrug. Whatever it is, the CM sweatshirt is alive and well in my heart and on the blog today... I'm sorry and you're welcome. xx

Following up on my recent bag ecstasy I thought a bit of shoe shopping also was in place. Having lifesaving
friends in London always come in handy when you live in the not-existing land of fairytales called Denmark. Thank you
Weeks later the Versace box finally arrived at my doorstep. And what beauties arrived! Buying shoes that aren't black feels
so good and I hope they will shine bright along the golden Medusas all the way until spring. I love you Donatella!
{Style} Dressing Up With Lulus.com...
Sometimes a girl just needs a little sparkle, especially where dresses are concerned. Luckily for me, Lulus.com had just the thing to get me in the mood for some holiday cheer (never too early), as well as date night with my mister... Win-win.
I instantly fell in love with its sparkly, deco-ish print and fit, and can't wait to Christmas-party-it-up in this bad boy... Or at least gorge myself on cookies and eggnog while it hangs nearby, reminding me that despite my temporary bout of gluttony, I am, in fact, still a lady... Most of the time.

{Style} For the Love of Plaid...
Mornings are often a struggle for me, so sometimes I literally just have to throw things together in hopes that they work. This, dear reader, was one of those outfits. I knew I wanted to wear this shimmery top the second I saw it peeking through a heap of clothes (aka the state of my closet right now), and the pants were selected solely because they were within reach. The bar is low, my friends. From there, I figured I didn't have much to lose, so I threw on this blazer and hoped for the best. The end result? Let's just say it's somewhere between secretary chic and Caddyshack... I'll take it.

{Style} Black & Gold...
Can we just take a moment to talk about this skirt? I bought it at The Pretty Secrets popup shop a couple weeks ago and have been obsessed with it every since. I mean come on, it's gold, pleated and all kinds of awesome, am I right? Plus it's vintage Smart Set, which totally appeals to the 13-year-old 90s child inside... Hashtag sigh.
In other news, it's time to announce the Boutique Onze gift card winner... Are you ready? The winner is... Jessica of Here & Now! Congrats girl!
Thanks to everyone who entered, I wish I had a gift card for all of you! xx

Finally back in my element feeling great and inspired! Getting out of my room and starting to live life again comes
with great opportunities apparently. A few interesting projects have already started and even more are coming up and
I know I will make it big this time.
I was stalked by a peacock taking these photos. That and other obscure details are all live on Instagram henriksilvius and Facebook!

Tailored
I hope all my friends in the US are having a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and are enjoying some time off. I certainly planned my vacation well, with just a couple of days to be back at work before having a nice break again. After 3 weeks away it's good to ease back into work.
I'm excited to share this dress at last because it was such an incredible score. I found it at the designer outlet Opitz back in September when I spent the weekend with Sal, and it was in perfect condition except for the zipper being broken. A trip to the tailor later, and I had a new designer dress for a fraction of the cost. And isn't it a beauty? I adore the mix of menswear fabrics, the geometric panels, and the tailored fit.
In other news, I've been promoted! I'm now an Associate Director, which is really exciting. I've been working very hard on a high importance project for several months now, so it's gratifying to see the reward from it. Can you believe it's been more than a year since I started my new job? I can hardly call it new anymore, but thankfully I'm still loving it as much as I did when I first started there.

{Details} Retail Therapy...
Sheer boredom, coupled with my love of online shopping, led to a little splurge-fest recently... And since I worked from home yesterday, I was around when Mr. Postman came by to deliver the goods. No, not like that pervs, I'm talking about this adorable bag and these hot heels! Now truth be told, my dream animal-embossed bag is a little more Burberry than ASOS, but hey, I do what I can. And how cute are these ShoeMint pumps? My feet are officially ready to parrrtay.
Happy weekending, friends! xx

{Style} Flowers & Dots...
Sometimes the simplest outfits are best, while other times you just have to pack in as many colours and prints as humanly possible. I'd like to think of this particular outfit as a happy medium in that it's low key yet fun and super print mix-y (totally a word by the way). I mean why wouldn't you wear floral print and polka dots with a splash of leopard, no less on a casual day? My thoughts exactly. xx

Finicky
I'll have a follow-up travel post or two after the Thanksgiving holiday is over, but in the meantime I have a couple of outfits from before the trip to share. This one features a new pair of boots that I recently found to fill a specific wardrobe gap: low heeled, mid-calf, medium brown boots that are comfortable enough for walking.
Initially I thought I might take these boots along for the trip, but they weren't quite broken in enough to be safe for 3 weeks on the road. As it is, even my most trusted pairs will start to get uncomfortable after several days of walking on cobblestones, which in fact is exactly what happened. I was forced -- forced, I tell you! -- to buy another pair in York when the two that I brought were becoming unbearable (you can see the new ones in Not Supermum's post). Curse you, finicky feet!
In this outfit I've layered one of my tulle skirts underneath the dress, which mitigates the problem of the dress being exceedingly floaty. Since I haven't yet bothered to work on weighting down the hem, I figured the next best solution was to wear something non-floaty underneath in case of a breeze. Problem solved, in layering weather at least.
Dress: eShakti
Cardigan: Anthropologie
Belt: a gift from Mom
Skirt: Noa Noa
Boots: Born
{Style} Varsity Blues...
I blame this outfit on Pinterest... Why you might ask? Because my impressionable mind saw a pic of a girl wearing a varsity jacket and decided right then and there that I needed one too. Yup, that's how my mind works, ladies and gentlemen. The crazy part is I never even liked them before let alone did I want one. They always seemed so high school to me, conjuring up images of Buffy the Vampire Slayer traipsing around graveyards in an oversized jacket and pink spandex... Hot.
Happy Wednesday, loves! xx
