These photos were taken on Christmas Eve in Vancouver, exactly one year after Mr. AiF popped the question (remember?). After the deed was done and I dumbfoundedly said yes, we had a really lovely lunch at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, with me paying far more attention to the new ring on my (shaking) hand than the incredible Indian buffet in front of me � memories. Since then, we decided to make it an annual tradition to visit a Fairmont Hotel in whatever city we happen to find ourselves in that day, pretending to be fancy over tea or (let's face it) the all-you-can-eat buffet. These photos are the before shots from said buffet excursion... You're welcome. xx

In keeping with last week's winter-fuelled Wardrobe Wednesday, I thought I would pay further homage to one of my favourite cold-weather accessories: The hat. The eternal warmer-of-heads and disguiser-of-bad-hair-days (you know what I'm talking about), the hat is the most versatile and transformative accessory at your disposal� and don't you forget it. And by you, I really mean me, because I'm the worst for neglecting even my most beloved accessories (#hoarderproblems). But that's why I love both you AND this WW column � you guys keep me honest.

Is it me, or is this outfit suuuuper reminiscent of MLP as Nancy Botwin in Weeds? The shorts, the loose fitting top � heck, event the side pony tail � are oddly conjuring up images of Nancy in my mind... And for the record, completely unintentional (despite the fact that I'm currently rewatching the series on Netflix). The subconscious mind, am I right?

{Style} Pink Moment...

Although not normally my jam, I'm totally feeling pink and in a big way... Believe me, no one's more surprised than me. I don't know what it is, but all shades of this girlie-toned spectrum are now on the table and I'm not even mad. Seriously though, everything from the vibrant hue of this maxi dress, down to the perfectly pale pink of my new Olive + Piper necklace is now in heavy rotation, and I'm hooked... I guess I owe my pal Kastles � the eternal pink-lover � an apology.

With the weather heating up (and let's not forget my overall disdain for being too warm), dressing has proven particularly challenging as of late. Seriously though, I don't know what to wear to work let alone in public when temperatures spike, which is problematic not only as a fashion blogger, but as a fellow human being who, you know, cares about norms and conventions and whatnot. Exhausting. That's why I was ecstatic when things cooled down juuuust enough for the ol' pants to come out, which � let's face it � are my sartorial happy place... Now let's just hope that Mother Nature reads my blog and decides to cut me some slack over the next two months.

Well it's my last day in Victoria (sniff sniff), and as you read this, Meows, Mr. AiF and I are probably en route to Vancouver for the last couple days of our vacay... If you follow me on Instagram you're probably sick of Victoria pics by now (sorry!), but I can't help it � It's just so flipping good to be home! I miss you already, you beautiful city, you...

In other news, it turns out that my new hologram clutch is the best purchase I've made a long time... If you thought you were sick of the Victoria-related Instas (again, sorry), just wait � Consider yourselves forewarned. xx

Normally not a fan of Mondays, this one in particular is shaping up to be awesome because: 1. I'm in my hometown of Victoria this week (woot!) 2. It's my birthday today! and 3. I got some sweet new shoes from Sole Society! I don't think I've ever had a Monday that called for so many exclamation points! Anyways, highlights of said awesome Monday will include spending time with my parents, gallivanting with Mr. AiF and hitting up a 90's dance party with friends... I could get used to this. xx
