These photos were taken on Christmas Eve in Vancouver, exactly one year after Mr. AiF popped the question (remember?). After the deed was done and I dumbfoundedly said yes, we had a really lovely lunch at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, with me paying far more attention to the new ring on my (shaking) hand than the incredible Indian buffet in front of me � memories. Since then, we decided to make it an annual tradition to visit a Fairmont Hotel in whatever city we happen to find ourselves in that day, pretending to be fancy over tea or (let's face it) the all-you-can-eat buffet. These photos are the before shots from said buffet excursion... You're welcome. xx

I picked up this coat from Zara on Saturday, and since then, I've worn it every single day � now I don't want to jinx anything here, but I think this may be love. Not the kind of love that wavers over time or lessens when people try to knock it down (like, say, when one of your BFFs refers to your new love as a bath robe � chump). 'Oh no, it is an ever fixed mark whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken'... Man, that Shakespeare new a thing or two about girls and their coats, let me tell you.

The minute I saw the Sea of Shoes x ShoeMint collaboration, I knew I had to make them mine. Like, if there were a "yoink" button on my screen (future e-commerce peeps of the world take note), that's what I would have pressed. Since arriving in the mail on Monday, I've paraded around the house in them exactly 800 times (give or take) and dreamed up a lifetime of outfits to accompany them... I'm not obsessed or anything.

Halloween has come and gone, but there's no reason not to enjoy a little black-and-orange colour combo, right? This coat (affectionately referred to as my 'gorilla coat') has been in heavy rotation all week, as have my faux leather leggings, which I haven't been able to part with for the past three days... Don't judge.

{Style} For the Love of Shoes... and Mint.

As temperatures drop, I figure why not brighten things up with some good old fashioned pastels? They're cheerful, bright and super feminine to boot... Seriously now, just try and feel low when you're wearing pastels � I dare you!

Want in on a secret? I think I'm well on my way to shoe fetish-ville here, guys... Now I know you must be thinking So what, Vickie? but I'm telling you, it's a big deal for me. I've always been a purse junkie that's given little-to-no thought to her footwear, so this newfound shoe fascination is both scary (sorry bank account) AND exhilarating... I tell ya, it's like I'm a whole new person. *shrug*

Minty Fresh...

I have two words for you, my friends: Mint. Jeans. Have two more glorious words ever been spoken? Doubtful... I've been crushing on them for ages now, with my Pinterest account only fueling the light green fire in my heart. Now that my hunger for mint jeans has been satiated, however, my mind has become consumed with other candy-coloured pant possibilities... If I get my way, expect to see yellow, coral and red jeans in the months to come! Just don't tell Mr. AiF � He thinks I have a shopping problem... shhhhh
