{Halloween Week} Painted Pumpkins

Why carve a pumpkin when you can paint one instead? Not to sound all 'easy way out' or anything, but painted pumpkins are not only easier than their carved counterparts, but they're oh-so pretty as well... That's why Kassie, Ashley and I decided to have a mini painting party over the weekend. There were cupcakes, pastel paints aplenty and the Monster Mash, of course. The only thing that could have made this day any better would be a screening of Ghostbusters and some Tootsie Rolls, but you can't have everything.

{Nailed It} Manicure DIY Roundup...

I love nail polish as much as the next girl, but lately it seems like there are more nail trends and jazzy Pins out there than I can keep up with... Man it's tough being a girl. Because I need constant reminders of things I want to try or need to do (believe me, it's a never-ending list), I decided to put together a roundup of my top five nail trends to try (helloooooo, watermelon wraps!). Hopefully this inspires you to jazz up those digits of yours, but if nothing more, it'll help keep me accountable when I deviate back to my standard red, black or neon polish... Wardrobe Wednesday...

I like big shades and I cannot lie, you other bloggers can't deny... OK, I guess that's enough of that, but the point I'm trying to make here is that I love me some oversized sunnies. When I saw these bad boys at Urban Outfitters last week, I just couldn't resist. They reminded me of my beloved Karen Walkers, only pastel, scalloped and for a fraction of the price... In fact, they were only $20! What can I say, one look at these, and I was sprung.

Today's outfit is brought to you by H&M, that wonderful neighbourhood mass retailer who always knows what I need... And in this case, what I needed happened to be a mint green dress. The moment I saw it I just knew it had to be mine, and couldn't wait to pair it with this blazer that I bought there last year... Can you say pastel heaven? Sigh.

Now I don't know about you guys, but I've gone completely gaga over pastels this year... And if you don't believe me, just check out my Pinterest account � it's literally bursting with the stuff! I'm not really sure what's come over me, but I just want to layer myself in soft, girlie hues while I paint my nails in the candy colours I relished in when I was 12... I guess trends really are cyclical, huh?

Mall Rats...

Having had the day off yesterday, I decided to go on a lovely shopping/coffee date with a new friend...  We enjoyed sinfully tasty treats (you're the worst, Starbucks!) and took a quick boo around the mall, which resulted in me buying a pair of mint jeans at Zara (finally!) and my first-ever Pandora bracelet, sans charms... Hey, one step at a time, right?

Warning! Warning! The mullet is back and it's making its way to a hemline near you... But fret not my friends, mullet clothing sounds more "Fubar" than it actually is. I for one plan on getting my fill of the trend over the next few months... And with super cheap-n-chic options to choose from, there's no reason not to jump on the bandwagon too!
