I love a good conversation starter, so to kick off another theme week (yay, Christmas!), I thought it would be fun to feature this battle-scene dress as a holiday option.... because why wouldn't you sport violent scenes from antiquity on Christmas? My thoughts exactly. So should you find yourself at a holiday fete where you don't know anyone, a dress like this should help break the ice. Well here's a sight you probably never expected to see around these parts � faux leather sweat pants. In my defense, I was overcome by the sheer novelty (at least for me) and awesomeness that is these pants while hunting for holiday wear yesterday (but that's a story for another day). I sheepishly tried them on � half in disbelief over my selection, half in shame of my new-found admiration for shiny sweats � and scurried over to the checkout counter before I could change my mind. And you know what? Turns out I'm kind of in love with these ridiculous pants after all... Sorry, not sorry.

Yesterday was filled with adventure, as Mr. AiF and I headed out of town for a little picnic and a lot of exploring... There were finger foods, lush greenery (pictured above) and weird, X-Files-inspired architecture (definitely not pictured above). Hey, gotta keep things interesting, am I right?

{Style} The Statement Sweater...

I feel like a total traitor in saying this, but I internally fist pump whenever temperatures drop and the days get a little crisp around here... Wtf is wrong with me, you ask? Well I'm sorry, but if loving layering as much as I do is wrong, then I don't want to be right. Besides, it's been months since I've worn a sweater let alone popped a collar underneath one, so I figured I was long overdue for a Kenzo moment... Next up is tights, but if I say that aloud Kastles might just beat me with a stick.

{Feature} Beauty in Destruction...

Sometimes the most unexpected backdrops turn out to be the best, as was the case with this construction site that my friend Jerry coaxed me onto. Despite the nagging feeling that I was doing something wrong the entire time (B&E, anyone?), it was actually one of the funnest shoots I've ever done � Rain, lightning, jagged edges and all. xx

{Style} Mixed Bag...

I love a sneak peek as much as the next girl, so when Nella Bella sent me their Filix Shopper Tote to preview from their Summer 2013 collection, I was pleased as punch. The bag is sleek and simple in design, which makes it a great go-to for work and travel (in case you haven't noticed, it's huge), and no matter how much I bog it down with the contents of my life, its handles are super comfortable under the added weight. To test this, I toted around a laptop, heels, extra makeup and book yesterday and lived to tell the tale... Now that's what I call a durable bag.
