{Wardrobe Wednesday} Don't Sweat It

It's no secret that sweatshirts have become my go -to this season � in fact, they've creeped up in outfit posts at a rate that would have alarmed 2010 Vickie. That's right my friends, only a few short years ago I would have turned my nose up at such items, scoffing at the very idea that sweatshirts could even remotely be a thing... Boy was past Vickie wrong! Now my collection seems to be growing by the day (don't worry Mr. AiF, it's just a figure of speech), so I figured I would show you all my current faves, plus a few that I have my eye on... Hey, you can never have too much of a good thing, am I right?

Friday is finally here, which means Mr. AiF and I are off to a weekend in the mountains... A snowy, Christmas-themed getaway courtesy of the Edmonton Journal that encourages gorging on decadent foods and festive fun including � but not limited to � holiday crafts... Needless to say, we're pretty pumped. And if I don't succumb to a flock of feisty geese or an aggressive mink while I'm up there (hey, it happens),  I'll see you guys back here on Monday.

{Style} In The Mix

Mixing prints is totally my jam, but my window for doing it right (aka, without the giant coat and snow boot situation) is ever closing... Now don't get me wrong, there's always opportunity to pair unlikely patterns, but when winter hits (and believe me, it hits hard here in Edmonton), you miss that effortless polish that lighter layers and pumps provide. If worn under boots, these floral pants wouldn't look half as cute (believe me, I tried), and you would totally lose the effect under my parka (shudder). So from now until the first snowfall (tomorrow?), I'm going to relish each and every opportunity to mix things up on the print front... Priorities, am I right?

In addition to exploring abandoned farms, the mister and I hit up an adorable pumpkin patch last weekend... There was a corn maze (my fave!), sweet treats and more pumpkins than I've ever seen together in one place � long story short, it was magnificent. Fall really is my favourite time of year, and taking the time to relish the season in any way possible has become a priority. It's so easy to get swept up in being busy and just let holidays � heck, even entire seasons � pass you by. So here's to all of us stopping to smell the pumpkin spice... Happy Friday! xx

Before Phillip Lim x Target mania hit the land, I spent many a week creeping the lookbook and planning my attack come launch day. And despite all the bits and bobs that caught my eye � and filled my cart � this sweater was my silver tuna. I don't know what it is, but I love everything from the bold design and colours, to that adorable front hemline... BOOM!

Just to give you a glimpse into my life, a random lady came up to me while I was taking these photos, leaned in nice and close, and whispered: "You should stand up straight, you know." I'm sorry, but are hunchbacks not in this season? I guess I didn't get the memo. Maybe I should have fibbed and told her that I have scoliosis just to make things nice and awkward � that would have shown her. Stupid retrospect.

Well at least I have this spotted Phillip Lim for Target skirt to keep me (and my hunch) warm at night, right? Sigh.

Six friends, three Target locations and one pumpkin spice latte � that's all it took to score my entire Phillip Lim wishlist, ladies and gents. If I'm not mistaken, I think that's what they call a winning strategy... Either that, or a stage five, point-of-no-return, OCD-fuelled shopping addiction. I prefer the former.
